This palm tree is typical of the Amazon. Its main sub-product
is assai wine, extracted from the pulp and skin of its fruit. The assai euterpe palm is edible and its stem is used in construction and as firewood. Fresh leaves can be used as fodder for animals and the seeds as fertilizer. It is often planted in gardens because of its beauty.
